Fire House Dog Figaro’s Fleece Pug Poncho

My newest creation for my shop (www.abercot.etsy.com) -

I’d like you to meet Fire House Dog Figaro and his fire house pug poncho (fits most small dogs). It will keep your pooch warm on a frosty fall/wintry day when you and your doggie are out for your walk. The poncho, sized for a smaller dog, easily fits around your doggie’s neck and under her/his belly with tabs, and the velcro stitched to the tabs lets you adjust to doggie’s size. The neck measurement is about 13-14 inches and belly measurement about 21-22 inches. (The doggie model here, Stripe, is one of my son’s little stuffed play dogs from his childhood, made by his Grandmother, and lovingly filled many hours of imagination and play over the years.)

The outer fabric is a delightful bright sky-blue fleece fabric with fire house dogs and red fire hydrants printed about. The lining fabric is a soft, deep purple fleece to help keep doggie warm and cozy. As a fun decoration, I’ve added a light blue collar on the coat's neck with contrasting buttons to dress up your doggie’s wear.

If you’d like a similar poncho/coat/cloak for your family pooch in another theme or just a general cold-weather wrap, please email me (gwrede@comcast.net), and I’ll get started on one for you. Suggestions: corduroy lined with fleece, fleece lined with fleece, varieties are endless. I’d love to make a poncho for your doggie! I’ll be posting others soon so please stay tuned…

Tidbit for today, a blessing...

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.
Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.
Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.
